The Gowanbank Hub was “officially” established in February 2021 by our CEO Dawn Peart and Director Leanora Jackson from a cloakroom with a £100 gift voucher from Tesco . The organisation was officially formed to help families within a local school who where in need during the recent Covid-19 pandemic. However the couple later realised the was a real need for the support within the local area.
Having left the school The Gowanbank Hub has expanded significantly and is thought to be one of the fastest growing social enterprises within the region and has recently been awarded official social enterprise status by Social Enterprise Scotland.
- delivering over 2600 Easter eggs to local disadvantaged residents , care homes and others over the Easter period. we have also dishing out over 13,000 meals to people in need , helped families escape domestic abuse as well as secured over £10k in grants for some of communities most vulnerable.
The Gowanbank Hub has also received the highest level of Commandment from the MP Chris Stephens of the house of commons.
